Privacy Policy Changes on Facebook
When I signed into my facebook account this morning a window popped up announcing that facebook is changing its Privacy settings. I clicked “Read More” where a very easy to understand page filled explained how privacy on facebook works: “Privacy is built around a few key ideas: You should have control over what you share. It should be easy to find and connect with friends. Your privacy settings should be simple and easy to understand.”

The biggest changes that I can notice, having been an avid facebooker for more than 5 years now, is that you can now control exactly who sees what you are sharing. What this also means is that you can customize certain lists so that if you want a your status to be shown to only your closest friends (also known as NOT your mom, your mom’s friends, your aunts and uncles and your cousins), you now have the ability to do this.
I think this is a huge step forward for Facebook, since it started out as a college networking phenomenon and now is transitioning more to businesses and people in other generations.
