Parthenon Lends an Artistic Touch to Hands on Nashville Day

Nancy Henderson at Hands on NashvilleParthenon Publishing pitched in alongside more than 1500 volunteers for Hands On Nashville Day, an annual volunteer extravaganza to benefit Nashville, Tenn. schools.

On Saturday, Sept. 30, 2006, Parthenon associates arrived at Charlotte Park Elementary School, and were promptly handed paintbrushes or work gloves for a morning of school-brightening projects.

Some helped with general landscaping outside the main building, while others went to work in the gym, painting sports-related silhouettes of children all around the gymnasium walls.

Carlton Davis, vice president of operations, stayed well after the event was officially over to help complete a large-scale mural of the school's mascot — a friendly basketball-wielding panther.
