Customer Communications section

Client: TravelCenters of America (TA), a network of more than 150 travel centers nationwide.

Challenge: Strengthen relationships with TA’s core customers. Encourage participation in customer loyalty program.

Solution: Road King is the integrated customer communications program of the Road King Drivers’ Club, TA’s customer loyalty program. Road King magazine, a bi-monthly magazine with a circulation of 226,000, is distributed at TA locations. The award-winning publication provides news and entertainment for professional truck drivers. It also serves as a guide to the Road King Drivers’ Club, helping drivers take advantage of the loyalty program’s benefits and services. In addition to the magazine, Parthenon creates and manages the Road King digital communications. The Road King Web site (www.roadking.com) not only provides content from the magazine, but also connects drivers to message boards, weather information and fuel prices. Road King e-news, an opt-in e-newsletter, enables TA to communicate with customers on a weekly basis. Parthenon manages the Road King communications program on a turn-key basis, handling creation, production and distribution of all three communications vehicles. Parthenon also manages advertising sales for the magazine, Web site, e-newsletter, in-store kiosks and other place-based media, generating positive net income for the publishing program.

Client: Psychiatric Solutions Inc. (NASDAQ: PSYS), the nation’s leading provider of behavioral health services.

Challenge: Strengthen the corporation’s identity among its key audiences: shareholders, customers, referral sources and employees. Demonstrate the growth and success of the company. Drive referrals to the company’s freestanding psychiatric facilities. Educate employees about the growth and direction of the company.

Solution: Parthenon developed and manages PSI’s corporate Web site, as well as sub-sites for each of its more than 50 psychiatric facilities. The corporate Web site provides company information for investors and the general public. The individual facility sites provide details about the programs offered and the conditions treated. A key part of the success of the Web site is the use of the Parthenon Referral DatabaseSM (PRD). When potential patients and referral sources request information about the facility, the request is immediately e-mailed to PSI personnel at the facility and the corporate office. In addition, the request is stored in the PRD to enable tracking of inquiries, by facility and in response to marketing efforts. Because PSI has grown dramatically through acquisition, many employees are unfamiliar with their new parent company. Parthenon also publishes the employee newsletter, PSI Insight, to educate employees about the corporation, share best practices, communicate corporate values and recognize achievements.

Client: IdleAire, a technology and engineering company providing anti-idling and entertainment services to the professional transportation industry.

Challenge: Encourage truck drivers to purchase, utilize and upgrade the in-cab services provided by IdleAire (satellite television, movies, telephone, Internet access, heat/AC) at truck stops and travel centers.

Solution: Parthenon developed The Guide, a monthly publication highlighting the features and benefits of the IdleAire service. The publication provides television and movie reviews, news about IdleAire and a directory of IdleAire’s rapidly growing network of locations. The publication plays a central role in communicating the many benefits of IdleAire’s unique service offerings.

Client: Courage Capital Management, LLC, a registered investment advisor managing private investment funds exclusively for qualified investors.

Challenge: Create an online communications vehicle to manage information sharing and document distribution to clients and potential clients.

Solution: Parthenon developed the Courage Web site. The site, which is entirely password protected, has different access levels which allow clients and prospects to view different information. Parthenon conceptualized and created the software and built the Web site. Parthenon also provides content management services to the firm.

Client: Fleet One, a leading financial service provider to companies with fleets of vehicles, and the merchants that serve them.

Challenge: Engage existing and potential customers for the purposes of building loyalty, cross selling services and generating business.

Solution: Parthenon developed Fleet One Go!, a quarterly newsletter distributed to 10,000 current and potential customers. The newsletter features insights into industry trends, profiles of existing customers and news items about payment solutions.

Employee Communications Section

Client: HCA (NYSE: HCA), owner and operator of approximately 190 hospitals and other healthcare facilities in 23 states, England and Switzerland.

Challenge: Educate HCA’s 190,000 employees about their benefits program. Encourage participation in benefits programs. Promote use of online health and benefits resources.

Solution: Today & Tomorrow, a bi-monthly newsletter mailed to all employees. Parthenon’s vibrant design, engaging photos, illustrations and breakout boxes/lists draw employees into the publication. Instead of a typical retirement photo promoting 401(k) rollover, Today & Tomorrow shows a dog rolling over, and ties the story to the photo. What drives all design and headline choices is the realization that the publication is competing with all media for reader attention.

Client: IASIS Healthcare, owner and operator of medium-sized acute care hospitals in high-growth urban and suburban markets.

Challenge: Strengthen the relationship between Iasis and its employees, located in more than a dozen hospitals nationwide. Communicate the direction of the company and the values it wants to preserve and foster.

Solution: Parthenon created Iasis forum, an eight-page newsletter, to inform employees about trends in the healthcare industry, while also sharing best practices and recognizing individual and group achievements. Most importantly, the newsletter communicates that the values the employees share in common are far greater than the distance and differences in their facilities. In between each issue of the print forum, the company sends e-forum to all employees with news updates, recognition and links to news articles and other resource materials.

Client: Spheris, the leading, global outsource provider of medical transcription technology and services to more than 450 health systems, hospitals and group practices throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Challenge: Unite a scattered workforce, many of whom work out of their homes, and strengthen company identity and employee loyalty. Provide employees with access to information they need to do their jobs.

Solution: Fullcircle, a bi-monthly employee newsletter to help the company communicate about its progress, share best practices and recognize employee achievements. Parthenon also manages Spheris’ online employee communications. Fullcircle On Quality is a monthly e-newsletter providing the company’s professional medical transcriptionists with quality and productivity tips and information. The company's intranet uses a graphic interface and navigation that allows employees to easily access information. Parthenon provided an integrated approach to both the print and online communications vehicles. The newsletter and Intranet share the same look and feel, and leverage the strength of each medium to serve as powerful communications tools.

Member Communications Section

Client: H2U, HCA’s membership organization serving individuals 50 years of age and older, with 130 chapters nationwide.

Challenge: Promote the new association brand/name to members, while producing newsletters customized for each chapter. Build loyalty of membership. Increase member participation.

Solution: H2U News a monthly chapter newsletter. Parthenon’s proprietary Online Publication Development SystemTM allows each of H2U’s chapter directors to customize their newsletters, while maintaining a consistent brand presentation and national content. Local chapter directors go online where they add chapter-specific content, add photos and review and approve their newsletter. The result is an easy-to-implement, cost-effective newsletter program that is fully customized, yet maintains important national branding and tone.

Client: Tennessee Defense Lawyers Association

Challenge: Create an online communications vehicle to enable the sharing of information among current members while facilitating member recruitment by offering information about the organization and its activities.

Solution: Parthenon created a Web site for TDLA featuring both “public” and “members only” areas. In the public area, visitors can learn about the organization. The password-protected members only area houses a member directory, member publications and an online forum. Parthenon designed and built the site. Parthenon also incorporated a customized content management system to enable appropriate association personnel to update content through a Web browser.
