New report highlights how marketers are using social media
A new survey from marketing and writing expert Michael Stelzner reports that Twitter, blogs, LinkedIn and Facebook are the top four social media tools used by marketers — with Twitter in first place. Nine hundred marketing professionals participated in the Social Media Marketing Industry report. Some key findings:
- 88 percent of marketers say they’re using some type of social media to market their business.
- 72 percent of marketers say they have either just started or have been using social media for only a few months.
- Nearly two-thirds of marketers are using social media for five hours or more each week.
- Those ages 30-39 are most likely to be using social media marketing. (44.8 percent are spending 10 or more hours every week.)
- Small-business owners are more likely to use LinkedIn than employees working for a corporation.
