Andy Hobbs

Senior Strategist

Andy integrates himself fully into the client’s structure and business strategy. This allows him to meet its current needs while also monitoring industry changes to create ongoing solutions that ensure growth.

Before coming to Parthenon, Andy was a senior account manager at Concept Artists, LLC, where he worked with Wells Fargo, Nike, TBA Global and Cuervo. He holds a bachelor’s degree in history from Williams College.

Andy views strategy as more than just a spreadsheet or “to do” list. He believes that full engagement in a company’s vision is necessary from senior management on down, as well as a robust strategic plan. That, in turn, will generate the buy-in needed to separate the business from its competitors and ensure growth and success.

Away from the office, Andy enjoys spending time with wife Clare and new family member Charlie. When he’s not walking Indie the dog, he’s honing his guitar skills.

Q&A

Describe your desk.

I sometimes hear, “Dude, your desk is messy.” I say it’s just organized in a way you do not understand.

What is your favorite place to visit?

I have to cheat and mention two: Traverse City, Michigan & Stone Harbor, New Jersey. Both are quiet, seaside communities where you spend the day swimming and the evening relaxing on a deck. That’s pretty much all I need.

What is your favorite thing about Nashville?

Family friendliness. Having moved here from NYC, it was a culture shock to feel completely comfortable taking our one year old just about anywhere in this city without worrying about getting the stink eye. I try not to be “that guy” with the screaming kid, but when it happens here, you get more knowing smiles than death stares.

What was your greatest fear as a child?

Heights. The irony is that for several years I wanted to be a professional rock climber. Until I realized that was terrifying.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

Being a husband and father, to the very best of my abilities… or the brisket I smoked last weekend.

Ashley A. talks about Andy

Aside from being a 100% nice guy, Andy is also hilariously funny. He can turn a phrase in an email like he’s a writer. Sometimes I think he’s gunning for my job, but then I remember the joke he’s making is too inappropriate for the boss to ever see it. I kid, I kid. Seriously, though, Andy is clever, quick-witted and tirelessly positive, even in situations where a lesser account manager would throw in the towel, or a least start taking the easy route to sub par work. Plus he has super cool taste in music and baby shoes.
