Peter Clifton Joins Parthenon Publishing Board of Advisors

Parthenon Publishing Inc., a leading provider of integrated custom publishing services to organizations and associations including magazines, newsletters and digital media, announced today the appointment of Peter Clifton to the Parthenon Board of Advisors.

Clifton, most recently a Senior Vice President and President/CEO of various Ingram Book Group companies, is a 20+ year media and technology industry professional with experience in print and digital publishing, Internet technologies, and distribution/wholesaling. He will serve on the Parthenon Board as an advisor on business and growth strategies.

Nashville, Tenn.-based Parthenon Publishing Inc., creates print and digital media to help its clients form stronger relationships with their customers, members and employees. Parthenon's clients include Travel Centers of America, HCA, Psychiatric Solutions, Fleet One, Iasis health care, Spheris and Unum Group.

In October 2001, Peter Clifton joined Ingram as President and CEO of Ingram Periodicals Inc., the newsstand magazine distributor owned by Ingram Book Group. In September 2002 he was additionally named President of Ingram International Inc., the book export distributor of Ingram Book Group as well as Senior Vice President, Ingram Book Group.
In October 2003, Mr. Clifton was named President, Ingram Library Services Inc. and in September 2004 he was additionally named President and CEO of Tennessee Book Company. He is a publishing and technology executive with extensive experience in book, software, magazine, multimedia, e-commerce and information publishing as well as sales and distribution.
Prior to joining Ingram, Clifton was the founding CEO of PubEasy, Inc. Clifton was responsible for growing and managing the PubEasy Internet service worldwide. RR Bowker LLC purchased PubEasy, Inc. Earlier in his career, Clifton served 11 years at John Wiley & Sons, Inc. as Director of Publicity and Director of New Media Development, Director of Audio publishing and Marketing Manager of Wiley's Professional Software publishing division.
He was Vice President, Director of New Media in the Children's division of HarperCollins Publishers, responsible for the development of children's multimedia games. Clifton was also Vice President, Director of Business Development & Licensing for SEGASoft, Inc. a subsidiary of SEGA of America.
Clifton graduated from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.
