Parthenon’s Road King Wins 10 TWNA Awards

Road King magazine, published by Parthenon Publishing of Nashville, Tenn., won 10 awards, including five Gold awards and a Best of Division Award for magazine graphics, at the Truck Writers of North America Communication Awards given out at the Mid-America Trucking Show in Louisville, Ky.

The TWNA Communication Awards recognize excellence in trucking industry journalism in both the trade and mainstream press, as well as excellence in communication with the industry by public relations professionals.

Road King won magazine writing awards in the following categories:

  • Bronze Award for Driver’s Lifestyle: “Steer Masters,” by Katie Neal
  • Bronze Award for Entertainment: “Hearing is Believing,” by Brad Schmitt
  • Bronze Award for Feature: “Fast Times at Notre Dame du Nord,” by Andy Turnball
  • Gold Award for Driver’s Lifestyle: “Ten-Hut Trucker!” by Paul Abelson
  • Gold Award for Entertainment: “Making It,” by Katie Neal
  • Gold Award for Technical: General: “Plug Ugly,” by Paul Abelson

Road King won magazine design awards in the following categories:

  • Bronze Award for Article Design: “Steer Masters,” by Michael Nott
  • Gold Award for Total Publication: November/December 2009
  • Gold Award for Cover Design: July/August 2009 Cover, by Michael Nott
