Parthenon Announces New Hires

Parthenon Publishing is pleased to announce the addition of three new members to its team.

MattSouthardsMatt Southards joins Parthenon as Digital Media Director. His prior work involved managing Web site development, online marketing and e-commerce channel sales for Hickory Hardware and its downstream e-commerce partners. He also worked as the Marketing Manager for Edgenet, a retail solutions provider, where he planned and executed B2B and B2C email campaigns that drove sales and awareness for the company’s online advertising programs with Better Homes & Gardens and Home Channel News. Southards earned his M.B.A. from the University of Illinois.

In his new position, Southards is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the Parthenon Publishing digital media department, including strategic planning, website development, and building strong client relationships.

MattBigelowParthenon also welcomes Matt Bigelow as Digital Media Manager. Bigelow was previously with Journal Communications, Inc., where he managed more than 100 websites, including analyzing web traffic trends and content strategies. Prior to Journal Communications, he held web and writing internships at SouthernLiving.com and U.S. Catholic magazine.

Part editor, part producer, and part strategist, Bigelow works with Parthenon’s clients to build and bring Web sites and Web applications to reality. He earned his M.S.J. in New Media Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University, and his B.A. from Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio.

HeatherNewmanHeather Newman joins Parthenon’s team as a Writer. Most recently, she served as a communications specialist for the Tennessee Commissioner of Health, writing speeches and presentations covering a variety of health issues. Newman has more than 10 years experience as a healthcare writer. Before her job with the State of Tennessee, she spent several years writing at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she developed and managed multiple magazines and worked as a Public Relations Specialist. Newman started her career in television news. She earned her B.A. in Telecommunications from Ball State University in Muncie, Indiana.

In her new role, Newman will write for publications of Parthenon’s clients, edit and proof copy as a member of the editorial team and work closely with healthcare-related clients.
